So much has been learned in the past two days in a “Kinesiology of Yoga” workshop with the wonderful yoga therapist Susi Hately. Before I embark on the next 5 days of Yoga Therapy training, I thought I would share some of my initial insights, so far.
It has been a wonderful exploration into evolving out of pain, refining pure movement and function to increase ease and performance. Whatever sort of performance you are hoping for in life, yogic, athletic, musical, relationship, career, travel, aging; all types of performance, all types of participation in life.
As we begin to slow down, we begin to notice how we hold ourselves, how we move, how we are breathing, how our body parts relate to each other, where we are compensating and how we are gripping. From here comes an increased ability to understand and learn how to move correctly, how to function with ease, and as this expands and grows, so does our movement and ease in our yoga practice and in all areas in life.
I’m super excited to be putting this into action and begin sharing it with you.
